Did you know the word “Helles” simply means “light”, “bright”, or “pale” in German?  The first German Helles lagers were brewed in the 19th century in Bavaria as an answer to the suddenly wildly popular Pilseners coming out of modern-day Czechia.  Just like those early Helles beers hailing from Munich, Sly Fox’s Helles Golden Lager is subtly hopped and features the full, beautiful, notes of freshly baked bread coming from the high-quality pilsner malt used in the grain bill.  It’s still Sly Fox’s most popular beer to this day.
