SLY FOX IS PA PREFERRED BY GIANT
Grocery Store Taps PA Brewery for Cool Collab
Pottstown, PA - November 2, 2020 — Giant Toboggan IPA, a Sly Fox Brewing Company beer brewed in collaboration with Giant Food Stores, will be released in 16 oz cans exclusively at Giant’s Pennsylvania stores on Friday, November 6.
Giant Toboggan is an approachable IPA coming in at 6.5% ABV. Brewed with blood orange and a variety of citrus-forward hops, this beer matches fruit and hop character, letting each complement the other.
“When Giant approached us, they were looking to offer something cool and unique from a local partner at their stores,” announced Peter Giannopoulos, Sly Fox Director of Sales. “In addition to the 16 oz cans of Giant Toboggan, we’re happy to report that a limited amount of draft beer is heading to Giant Markets in Camp Hill, Giant’s Heirloom Market in Philadelphia’s Northern Liberties neighborhood, and all Sly Fox pub locations!”
The Giant collaboration beer will pour at Sly Fox outposts in Phoenixville, Malvern, Wyomissing and the brewery’s tasting room in Pottstown beginning on November 6 and at the Pittsburgh location in mid-late November.
Cans of the beer will be available exclusively at the 130 Giant supermarket locations throughout PA as part of their ‘PA Preferred’ program that highlights local food and beverage producers.
“We participated in the All Together collaboration earlier in the year, and we were really pleased with how our interpretation of that beer came out. We were looking for a way to build upon that success, and we suggested to the Giant team that we riff on that very citrusy beer as a base for Giant Toboggan,” said Giannopoulos. After a lively discussion, the group settled on finishing the beer with additions of blood oranges and the zesty combination of Citra, Mandarina Bavaria, and Centennial hops.
Giant will donate $1 from every 4-pack sold to Phoenixville Area Community Services to help continue its mission to be the lead resource for food insecurity in Sly Fox’s hometown community of Phoenixville.
