SLY FOX ANNOUNCES AWESOME CAN JAM MUSIC FESTIVAL LINEUP, CONTINUES TO HOST LARGEST KANJAM TOURNAMENT IN THE WORLD

Pottstown, PA—August 29, 2016—Sly Fox Brewing Company is well known for two things: deliciously authentic representations of classic beer styles and unrivaled, amazingly fun events at the brewery.

Ever evolving Sly Fox events are famous for their epic scope and incredibly festive atmospheres. CAN JAM Music Festival– the brewery's free concert that fills the adjoining field with fans and the air with the sweet sounds of a full slate of amazing bands—is coming up on September 24.

CAN JAM IS AN AMAZING CONCERT
The Can Jam Music Festival, just like in years past, is a special music festival curated by brewmaster Brian O'Reilly and the brewery staff.

"We listen to a lot of music and invite talent that we think is a good fit," says O'Reilly, who is in the process of organizing the Pottstown brewery's fifth annual Can Jam. "Every Can Jam has been a really special live music experience from beginning to end."

Sly Fox Brewing CompanyThe Can Jam Music Festival began as a celebration of Sly Fox Brewing Company's role as an early adopter, evangelist and promoter of cans—the greatest packaging trend in the craft brewing industry.

"Sly Fox believes that there is an affinity between original music and craft beer. Both arts have refused to accept the standard version of thinking and reach to create something new and engaging while accepting the principles of their chosen form. As a brewery, we often rely on tavern owners and beer distributors to help us express our beer to its fullest, and our goal is to do the same for the musicians by offering a stellar sound and stage setup."

This year's Sly Fox Can Jam Music Festival includes five heavy-hitting acts that will make for a lively early autumn day and night at the brewery. From rollicking piano rockers and perennial Philly favorites, to big band alternative funk and critically acclaimed musicians, Sly Fox's Can Jam has cool music covered…

BEN ARNOLD AND THE 48 HOUR ORCHESTRA: Headliner Ben Arnold hits the Can Jam stage for the first time with a spirited and soulful backing band that includes strings and horns. "Ben Arnold is like a musical Rocky, ready to take on any level of competition," says People Magazine.

TOM HAMILTON'S AMERICAN BABIES: This energetic "psych-rock" ensemble showcases special song writing while exploring different styles of music and lyrical themes that range from working class truths and political chaos to personal relationships gone sour.

SWIFT TECHNIQUE: No other working band's sound quite personifies festival fun quite like Swift Technique's brand of fiery funk. The eight piece ensemble has relentlessly toured, performed and recorded and this is their second Can Jam appearance— they're that good!

JASON FRATICELLI BAND: As an upright bassist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, Jason Fraticelli has been a sideman for artists like Matisyahu and Melody Gardot while working out his own unique, engaging sound.

CHESTNUT GROVE: A high-energy roots rock, folk & roll outfit comprised of best friends influenced by artists as diverse as The Band and Sublime delivers compelling music made to be heard outdoors!

Every year, Can Jam is a much anticipated day of amazing music in the beautiful fields adjoining the Pottstown brewery, accentuated by the largest KanJam tournament in the universe.

Sly Fox Brewing CompanyKANJAM IS AN AWESOME GAME
Every year the day-long music festival kicks off with another tribute to the humble beer can. KanJam is a game played with two teams of two partners each and a flying disc. Similar to horseshoes except partners help one another score by diverting the thrown disc into a large… can! KanJam has become a super popular backyard drinking game that is, quite literally, sweeping the nation.

Sly Fox Brewing CompanyThe Sly Fox tournament has grown to be the largest in the world and even caught the attention of Charles Sciandra, one of the games inventors, who will be traveling from Buffalo, NY to hang out with the players for the day.

"The whole crew at Sly Fox loves the game, and it is a great honor to have Charlie here for the day, " Corey Reid, Sly Fox beer ambassador and KanJam tournament organizer, eagerly says. "We never thought the tournament would grow the way it has."

This year's tournament will feature 160 teams! That's 320 players arriving well in advance of the first band taking the stage to compete to be named champion of the highly skilled field and win one of the most unique prizes anywhere, in any sport.

THROWING THEIR WEIGHT AROUND
"When we decided to award the winning KanJam Tournament team with their weight in beer, William Reed, the owner of Philadelphia's Standard Tap and Johnny Brenda's, gave us a surprise," recalls O'Reilly. "He custom made a massive scale large enough to hold two KanJam players on one side and as much beer on the other." It is a real spectacle to watch the winning team rise off the ground as the Sly Fox crew stacks case after case of beer on the other side of the scale.

The brewery encourages Philadelphians to come out to the suburbs for the concert and has negotiated specials with local hotels. For the adventurous, the brewery is an excellent cycling destination and is only a few miles off of the Schuylkill River Trail with private campgrounds not much further.

NEW THIS YEAR
"Sly Fox beer is being called the outdoor enthusiast's choice," continues O'Reilly, "and we recently decided to embrace that."

This year the brewery will present two additional activities for concert attendees that will advance the idea that Can Jam is one of the most unique concerts anywhere.

A group bicycle ride preceding the concert is a fun way to start the day for attendees not registered for the KanJam tournament and tethered hot-air balloon rides will also be available throughout the afternoon.

The Schuylkill River Heritage Area, the organization that administers the funds donated from the sale of Sly Fox Brewing Company's SRT ALE, will host a bike ride along the Schuylkill River Trail prior to the start of the concert.

Ride for the River 2016, for which cyclists must preregister, will include 16 & 40 mile options starting at 9am and 10am respectively along a well-marked route with ride support. Cyclists will receive complimentary festival food and beer, not to mention eight hours of free, live music after the ride!

Additionally, the US Hot Air Balloon Team will be offering tethered rides over the festival for $15 per adult and $10 for children who must be accompanied by an adult.

IF YOU GO
September 24 is a big day at the brewery filled with music and fun. Whether you're playing the KanJam Tournament, riding your bike to support the trail or just sitting on a blanket enjoying some great craft beer at a beautiful Pennsylvania brewery, Can Jam 2016 is certain to be one of this year's most memorable events.
