SLY FOX CREATES "THE TWELVE KEGS OF CHRISTMAS" PROGRAM TO MEET DEMAND FOR DRAUGHT CHRISTMAS ALE

An unprecedented demand for draught Christmas Ale 2009 has led to a month-long promotion in Deember at both Sly Fox locations to provide customers with an opportunity to try this hard-to-find beer at the bar.

"Every drop of kegged Christmas Ale which we released to the market sold out even faster than we could have imagined," said director of brewery operations Tim Ohst. "This beer has always been very popular but nobody was prepared for this. Origlio, our wholesaler, is sold out and many of our favorite bars were either shut out or received only a single keg."

While the sellout was "gratifying," Ohst said, it did raise the spectre of many loyal Sly Fox customers not being able to try one of their favorite beers. And that concern begat "The Twelve Kegs of Christmas."

"We are taking our last 12 kegs and splitting them evenly between the Phoenixville and Royersford pubs," he said, "and, starting today in Phoenixville and Friday in Royersford, will tap them weekly at each pub. After four two this week, we will stagger the next six over the following two weeks and then tap the final two kegs on Tuesday, December 23, ato both locations."

The complete tapping schedule for The Twelve Kegs of Christmas is on the Sly Fox Calendar.
